Chasing the alpha wave dragon to cultivate some chill, I have been looking at neuro feedback and alpha-theta brain-wave regulation. Neurofeedback, a type of biofeedback, presents real-time feedback from brain activity in order to reinforce healthy brain function. These blue on gold Alpha waves represent calm, creativity, and an enhanced ability to absorb new information. Alpha waves recorded during wakeful relaxation with closed eyes are the strongest EEG brain signals. They dominate moments when we relax and unwind without focusing ours mind on a particular task.

Neurofeedback training, particularly localized neurofeedback training, has been found to be therapeutic for patients for PTSD, depression, and self-regulation. Neurofeedback is also used to enhance performance extend to the arts in fields such as music, dance, and acting. Alpha-theta training assists creativity by inducing hypnagogia, a "borderline waking state associated with creative insights" instilling a superior flow state.

The only way I know how increase alpha wave power is through meditation. And when that eludes me, and my mind bounces too much, focusing on these blues flowing on gold helps the brain slow down.
